Education

Our educational programs (bachelor's, master's and additional professional training) are aimed at forming specialists demanded by modern creative industries, combining creative thinking, managerial and project competencies, business and research approaches.

The project-based learning format means that from the first grade students develop their own projects in the field of creative entrepreneurship (be it a city festival, a contemporary art exhibition or a new digital product - while learning the necessary digital technologies and building up a theoretical base in the theory and history of culture and communications).

According to the current demand, different variants of programs are possible: face-to-face, online and in hybrid format. A number of programs include English-language tracks.

An advanced bachelor's program combining managerial competences and expertise in the field of creative industries development.

By the end of the course, each student will form a professional project portfolio and create a full-fledged sustainable startup - from business idea to release, including the whole range of modern organizational, marketing and financial solutions.

The educational trajectory of each student of the Program depends on the chosen profile:

The training is based on the best Russian and foreign practices of creating, organizing, developing and promoting creative projects and creative products.

The Master's program ‘Management in Creative Industries’ is aimed at training specialists in managing creative industries organizations, professional communities and communities, creative projects, as well as launching business projects and start-ups in creative industries.

Students of the program will master the following skills:

  • Developing a project/startup concept in creative industries, conducting a set of pre-project studies and analyzing regulatory frameworks and market trends.
  • Application of business technologies, methods of business planning, forecasting, scientific research of the market and its segmentation; conducting research using professional software and artificial intelligence to justify the tactics and strategy of project/startup development, determining the composition of the project/startup.
  • Organization of the team's work when implementing a project/startup in creative industries, formulation of tasks, preparation of reporting materials and presentation of their results before an external audience, development of applications for attracting resources (investors, fundraising, crowdfunding, grant and other platforms).
  • Applying the results of current scientific and applied research of creative economy in the development of projects and start-ups.

RESEARCH

  • of the creative industries sector, assessment of the state of the creative economy in the Russian Federation and its regions, identification of key parameters for the development of the creative industries ecosystem;
  • opportunities for increasing the capitalization of intangible assets in the creative industries;
  • conditions for the production, distribution and popularization of goods and services of domestic creative industries;
  • the need and possibility of creating an accessible and geographically uniform infrastructure for creative industries, including creative clusters, creative incubators, centers for collective use of special equipment;
  • the possibility of increasing the level of cultural connectivity by recreating historical and cultural monuments, historically valuable urban-forming objects in historical settlements, and developing a network of historical and cultural reserves.

DEVELOPMENT

  • proposals for the creation of an inclusive institutional environment and infrastructure to ensure the creative self-realization and employment of women, youth and persons with disabilities in the creative industries sector;
  • measures to develop the system of education and competencies required for creative industries and creative entrepreneurship, including the creation of favorable conditions for self-realization of women, youth and persons with disabilities;
  • measures to preserve historical and cultural heritage, identity, traditional recipes, including local cultural context and raw materials, revival and development of folk arts and crafts, their delocalization and scaling up, reproduction in modern goods and services;
  • systems of measures for the development of author, event, creative, cultural and historical tourism.

CREATIVE HUB

CREATIVE HUB is a platform for discussions and research, which allows presenting the opportunities and projects of the Institute for Creative Industries the Development of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and the HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL of the National Research University Higher School of Economics to customers, partners and colleagues.

The CREATIVE HUB program includes various events: business conferences and round tables, master classes and workshops, TED and artist talks, open lectures and discussions, festivals and video shows. Each event involves research and project components, as well as an interdisciplinary approach.
 

Creative.HSE Digest

‘Creative.HSE Digest’ is a regular publication of the Institute for Creative Industries Development at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. It includes reviews of the most interesting events and research to keep abreast of the latest scientific developments and best practices, reviews of legislative initiatives, as well as the best regional and federal cases in the creative industries.

Tourism Laboratory

A laboratory of the Institute for Creative Industries Development of the National Research University Higher School of Economics that implements topical practical and research projects in the field of tourism.

  • Carrying out field research of tourism sphere of specific territories, including student expeditions
  • Development of projects based on the results of the conducted research

Incubator-Accelerator of Creative Startups

The Incubator-Accelerator provides residents with a digital platform, mentoring, marketing and PR-support, resources and, most importantly, education necessary for a successful start-up and stable growth in the field of creative entrepreneurship.

Regional Creative Potential Rating

The regular regional creative potential rating is carried out jointly with the All-Russian R&C Research Centre to identify key factors in shaping the creative environment and assess their impact on the level of socio-economic development of territories.

Creativecity.Academy

Creative City digital platform brings together educational initiatives, creative projects and people on the platform of a modern media resource, the service helps to develop the creative potential of the territory and effectively present the results of the development of a creative cluster.

Collection of Russian Brands

The joint project with the All-Russian R&C Research Centre is aimed at collecting comprehensive information on the topical brands of Russian regions, as well as at identifying trends and dynamics of development in this area of marketing.
